Week One: Working with Images
The first week introduced image editing using GIMP. I liked the beginner-friendly guides and quick exercises. The color vision simulation was particularly interesting and helped me understand how different people perceive images. Uploading and sharing images was straightforward, which made practicing the concepts easier.
Week Two: Sound Capture and Editing
Week two focused on sound, which I had little experience with before. Recording my voice and importing background music felt fun, and learning how to modify sounds using free tools gave me confidence to experiment. The lessons on sound reflection and transmission added useful theory behind the practical exercises.
Week Three: Recording and Editing Video
Video editing with OpenShot in week three was eye-opening. I learned how to create simple videos, add transitions, and combine audio and images. The step-by-step guides made the software less intimidating, and uploading my final video gave me a sense of accomplishment.
Week Four: Publishing Content on WordPress
The last week was about sharing content online, which tied everything together. Creating a blog on WordPress and publishing my projects made me realize how easy it is to put together text, images, sound, and video in one place. It also showed me how accessible content creation can be for beginners.
Overall, this course gave me a solid introduction to multimedia content creation. The balance between theory and hands-on practice helped me learn quickly and feel confident using open source tools. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to start creating digital content and share it online.
