For the second year in a row, MLB The Show won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. After years of day-one releases on Game Pass from 2021 through 2024, the series shifted away from the subscription model with MLB The Show 25, and 26 follows the same path.
The Game Pass partnership helped introduce the series to a wider audience and boost sales, but Sony seems to be prioritizing standalone revenue this time. Xbox players who relied on Game Pass for free access will now have to buy the game if they want the latest features.
MLB The Show 26 launches March 17, 2026, across consoles and PC, with Aaron Judge on the cover. Pre-orders are open, with the Digital Deluxe Edition providing Early Access from March 13. Hardcore Diamond Dynasty and Franchise fans will likely want launch day rosters, while casual players might wait for a discount later in the year.
