Quick iPhone-to-TV video sharing

Whenever someone sends me a funny clip or I record something I want to show the family, I always end up fumbling with cables or switching inputs on the TV. By the time I get it working, the moment is already gone. I’m trying to find a faster way to just open the video on my iPhone and put it on the living room TV without digging through menus or dealing with extra pop-ups. What do you all use for quick, no-drama sharing?

I’ve had the same problem during family gatherings — nobody wants to wait while I figure out which HDMI port is active. What helped was using an app that mirrors whatever is on my iPhone directly to the TV without needing the remote at all. This one Cast photos from iPhone to TV has been the quickest option so far. It connects over Wi-Fi, finds the TV automatically, and lets me play saved videos right away. Works even for longer clips without lag, as long as the network is stable.

At my place, the biggest improvement came from cleaning up the Wi-Fi setup. Once I moved the router out of the cabinet and switched my phone to the 5 GHz band, mirroring became almost instant. Even older TVs handled it well after that. I still keep the habit of closing background downloads before casting — it prevents those random freezes right when everyone’s paying attention.
