We’re finally ready to start building out our own advertising technology instead of relying on multiple disconnected tools, but I’m struggling to figure out what core features we must include in the first version. Should we focus on real-time bidding? Audience segmentation? Integrations? It’s hard to prioritize without a clearer picture of what matters most in custom AdTech.

It’s totally understandable to feel overwhelmed — AdTech is a complex ecosystem, and the priorities can shift depending on your specific business goals. What helped me was reading up on how other companies approach it and what components they consider foundational before expanding. For example, I came across Adtech platform https://geomotiv.com/industries/adtech/ in the middle of my research, and their overview breaks down not just the technical parts like API integration and data flows, but also strategic elements like performance analytics, targeting logic, and scalability. Seeing everything laid out gave me a good sense of what features make sense to include first and which ones can be added later as enhancements.

Thanks, that actually gives me some clarity. I was stuck thinking I had to implement everything at once, but framing it as core versus optional features makes more sense. I’ll check out the link you shared and start mapping out a phased plan.
