Recovery after training: what helps?

Recovery after training: what helps?

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about recovery. Last month I pushed my training harder than usual — added extra leg days and increased weights. At first I felt great, but after two weeks I started waking up sore, tired, and honestly kind of unmotivated. It made me realize that training is only half the job. So I’m curious — what actually helps you recover better? Is it mostly sleep, nutrition, supplements, or just backing off sometimes?

From my experience, recovery is a mix of basics and small extras. Sleep is huge, and so is eating enough protein and carbs to refill your energy. When I was prepping for a local show, I noticed that stretching and light walks on rest days helped more than just lying on the couch. Some guys also look into different support compounds; I once read about spectrum pharma anavar on while researching what others were using during cutting phases. Not saying it’s for everyone, but it shows how varied approaches can be. Personally, I stick to food, hydration, magnesium before bed, and keeping stress low.

Funny enough, I’m not even training seriously right now, just doing casual workouts a couple of times a week. But I totally get the recovery struggle. Even after a long hike or helping a friend move apartments, my body reminds me I’m not 20 anymore. For me, a hot shower and a quiet evening without screens already feels like solid recovery. I think sometimes we underestimate simple habits.
