My partner and I have been together for about 7 years, and lately, our intimacy has really dwindled. We used to have a great sex life, but now it feels more like a chore than something enjoyable. We've tried talking about it, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Has anyone had a similar experience and tried relationship therapy to help? I'm curious if it actually works and what we can expect from it. We're both willing to try anything to rekindle that spark.

It's tough when intimacy fades in a long-term relationship, but you're definitely not alone! My partner and I went through something similar a few years ago. We decided to try couples therapy, and it honestly made a huge difference. We were able to communicate more openly and address underlying issues that were impacting our sex life. A friend of mine in London actually recommended London Psychosexual Therapy; apparently, they specialize in these kinds of issues. Finding the right therapist is key, but it can be a really valuable step.

It’s interesting how societal norms often dictate the "right" way to feel about sex and intimacy in relationships, putting pressure on couples to maintain a certain level of activity. The truth is, everyone's experience is different, and ebbs and flows are completely normal. The important thing is to find healthy ways to communicate and address any concerns that arise, whether that's through therapy or through open and honest conversations.
