Has anyone here used Alkasir to bypass censorship? I'm curious how it compares to using a VPN

Has anyone here used Alkasir to bypass censorship? I'm curious how it compares to using a VPN

I live in a country where quite a few news and political sites are blocked, and I've been using a VPN for a while, but it slows down my connection a lot. I heard about a tool called Alkasir that only routes blocked websites through the proxy instead of all traffic. Has anyone actually used it? Does it work well for accessing censored content?

I've been using Alkasir for a few months and it's genuinely a solid alternative to VPNs. The split-tunneling approach makes a big difference for speed, since only blocked sites go through the proxy. It's open-source and cross-platform, so it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The developers are actually based in Sweden now, but the project started in Yemen, so the team understands the censorship problem firsthand. You install the app and a Chrome extension, and you can also help map censorship patterns by reporting blocked URLs. The tool is free and they're pretty clear that it's meant for accessing news and political content, not for high-bandwidth stuff like streaming or torrents. If you want to check it out, the full details and download links are at https://alkasir.com/. I've found it more reliable than my VPN for just browsing blocked websites.

That sounds exactly like what I need. I'm tired of my VPN slowing down everyday browsing when I only need it for a few sites. I'll download it and give it a try. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I appreciate it. It's good to know there's a dedicated tool for this use case. I'll test it out this week.Title: Has anyone here used Alkasir to bypass censorship?
