We are kitting out a new cold storage facility in Dubai Investment Park and the hygiene requirements are pushing us towards stainless gear for everything that touches the floor. The one thing I keep going back and forth on is the pallet truck stainless steel option because it costs noticeably more than the standard painted units we have used for years. Everyone talks about the corrosion resistance and the easy cleaning, which I get, but nobody mentions the downsides and I refuse to believe there are none. Is it heavier to push around, does it dent easier, does it scratch up and look rough after a few months of daily use? Also in a freezer environment, does the stainless handle the temperature swings better or worse than painted steel. I would rather hear the honest negatives now than find out after spending on three of them and regretting it. Anyone running stainless in a cold or wet setting long term, what has annoyed you about it?
