Hi everyone, 

our commercial timber processing facility had to halt operations after the main chipper drive spiked to extreme temperatures during yesterday's shift. When we pulled the maintenance plate, we noticed erratic wear patterns along the primary gear faces and significant play around the input shaft seal. 

The shift mechanic thinks the mounting bolts loosened under heavy log impacts, causing internal gear binding. Have any sawmill operators run into this shaft displacement issue during high-volume chipping? We want to know if realigning the housing on-site works or if shipping this heavy-duty Cotta gearbox for service is required.
